As I have stated before, I am an excellent starter…and a not so excellent finisher. This must be written in my DNA, stamped onto the double-helixes of which I did not choose. I get so jazzed by a new project, but lose interest about halfway through. This is generally because I've moved on to being jazzed about my next new thing.
However, with Twig3 coming in just 12 weeks–I need to get some junk done. Namely, house things. We have lived here for 6 months, and to be honest there are rooms that look like we moved in yesterday.
Let me tell you about my mind and unfinished projects. Unfinished projects make me feel defeated. They mock me and remind me of my shortcomings. They remind me that other people do more, are faster, are more accomplished. Those same unfinished projects whisper that I'm lazy, undone, and that guilt does not let me enjoy rest.
Now, lest you think I'm overly dramatic (I can be), I know that unfinished house projects rank in the bottom .03% of world problems. But, in my world, they hang over my head.
So, this week, I am on a mission to finish 3 rooms of our house. I want to finish up our family room, our powder room, and our master bedroom. These are 3 rooms that need very little done, but would make a large impact on our daily life.
Now, let me remind you–we've come a long way from the beginning. I've just stalled out a bit since Husband's resurfacing after that eternal trip to Texas, then the holidays, then being…pregnant. :)
I'll update you on Friday as to how I fared and also my thoughts about finishing the mission. Do you have unfinished projects you're planning to finish this week? If so, let me know in the comments and if we have enough people jumping on board for this mission, I'll make a linky so you can show off your hard work.
