M11 :: Be a Tourist In Your Own Town

This weekend Husband and I got to go on a fantastic retreat.  Our second weekend away from the kids in 3 years.  How is that possible?  How have I survived that long without time alone with Husband.  Well, you see, we don't have family anywhere within 600 miles…and we certainly don't have the cash to pay a babysitter to come stay for the weekend.  But, this weekend it happened.  We left.  It was GRAND.

We stayed here.  At ALoft Hotel (a division of W hotels) at the Epicenter in Uptown Charlotte.  It was divine to sleep in a king-sized bed with no crumbs from little ones, no sudden awakenings from same little ones, and time to sleep in for the first time in ages.

Husband's parents are coming into town this week as well–so we are going to play tourist in our own town and see things we haven't taken the time to see in the last 4 years of being Charlotteans.  Our trip this weekend was just the tip of the iceberg of the plans we have for the week.  I can't wait to finally see some of the exciting things around town!
