We need to get away. We need to get to warmer weather and spend time with some friends we haven't seen in awhile. We are taking a semi-impromptu family trip back to Charlotte to see some old friends and enjoy some R&R. I can't wait to see the Crepe Myrtle blooms and enjoy the coming of spring about a month before spring will…spring…in Indianapolis.
Have I mentioned that some of my favorite times with Husband have been spent in the car? I love that he is a captive audience. We can dream and dream and discuss and dream together for 10 straight hours. It's glorious, and it happened at least twice per year while we were living away from our family. I can't wait for that cherished time together this week.
We are also staying in a hotel, which is one of my pleasures in life. It's silly, I know, but I truly never tire of staying at a fun hotel. I love the little luxuries of traveling.
Lastly, we will get to reconnect with some of our friends from our time in Charlotte. I am going to go to the Bible Study I attended every week. We're going to eat with friends at all of our favorite Charlotte restaurants, and we're going put the time in to maintain our friendships. It is a much needed trip for us, and we're so excited to be able to take it!
I leave you with two pictures from our time in Charlotte. They are some of my very favorites…one from our time on Lake Norman and another from our annual pumpkin hunting trip.
Poor Twig2. :) Good thing he's so cute! I'm sure to get some great pictures of our travels, but until then…these will have to do!
