Good progress in the right direction for little dude. This picture is from before we knew there were any issues. He is in his daddy’s arms…which coincidentally is my favorite place to be. :)
Twig3 seems to be make small but steady improvements. We do have some new concerns (I’m not sure if they are new to the doctors, but they just relayed them to us)…one being that he is still not very alert or active. On one hand, this is understandable considering how sick he is. On the other hand, it is very important for him to grow more responsive in the next couple days. They are planning to do a spinal tap tomorrow to see if the infection spread to his brain. This would be very bad news, and we are praying mightily against that. This is a test that they have been planning to perform since his admittance and is not a reflection of any symptoms he is having…but, they have waited to do the test until he is stable enough. They are hoping tomorrow will be the day.
The doctor said that today seemed to be a turning point for Asher. Her words were, “Yesterday your son was very, very, very sick. Today, we can get rid of one of those verys.” And the nurse said that tomorrow will also be a big day in seeing how long of a healing process this will be. We love our NICU nurse…she is just absolutely phenomenal. Praise God.
Thank you for your earnest prayers. In this time of complete and utter dependence on God–I covet the prayers of the faithful. Those people you KNOW will stand in the gap and utter prayers for your baby. I feel completely unable to stand for myself right now. My prayers are simple and childlike. I thank you for standing with me (and the 4 men in my life).
