the desire for less

from our summer lake vacation

In a lot of ways, this has been a season of more. A season of more opportunity (hello, Influence Network!), of more connections (hello, Influence Conference!), or more responsibility (hello, kindergarten!), or more love (hello, baby4!).

And that makes me long for less. Less laundry, less junk, less paperwork. Fewer piles, fewer commitments, fewer impulse purchases.

I need a little room in my head. Ideas are swirling, relationships need tending, boys need raising, and I’d much rather throw energy at those things than shuffling my papers from one counter to another. I’m sure you’ve been there?

Do you have any big (or small) suggestions for down-sizing your life when it’s expanding in a lot of good ways?

I’m needing some tips about paperwork, bill organization, laundry, etc. Hit me with your best ideas! Let’s get some conversation going in the comments–surely someone’s obvious tip will be another’s “ah-ha moment”.

Also! Megan from Happy the Home won the Lisa Leonard/Tiny Shop giveaway from last week!
