I am feeling a revival in my heart for the place I live. We recently explored leaving our hometown again for an adventure down south. But, the Lord made it clear that the answer was “stay” and “it’s not time to leave just yet”. So, I’m praying praying praying for a deepened love and connection in my town. And you know what? He is good to answer that prayer. He is bringing other creative women and options to dig in to life here.
Some of my current Instagrams have alluded to this stirring in my heart. I’ve been out an about, wondering what those kids who get free meals at school are going to do once summer comes, wondering why churches don’t do more “free community dinners”, wondering what I can do here, with small children, in a way that gets small and relational.
I’m excited because I’ve run into two local opportunities that fit right in with my heartbeat. This all feels like sweet mercy after a long and lonely winter (how do other cold-winter people do community through those long months!??)–and I’m so grateful.

1. Mission True Leadership–Work Matters to God. (Wednesday, June 4 3:30-5) This is organized by a dear friend that is prominent in the Indianapolis business world. It’s been a joy to watch him assume the lead of his family’s business, and I’m grateful he’s exploring the idea of vocation, mission, and calling. This event will be lead by author Chris Horst and will feature local businessmen who love the Lord (next year, maybe we’ll have a lady or two represented!). It’s open to anyone and all you have to do is RSVP to owinters@connerins.com! Mike and I will be there.
2. Dream Year Pitch Night (August 12, 7pm) This happens to be Mike and my 9th anniversary and we can’t wait to spend it together dreaming with other Indianapolis big idea people.
