Would you like to know the single easiest way to define your style? Start a pinboard. I’m sure you’ve heard this tip by now. It was a novel idea two years ago when I first spoke about it. But, two years later (eons and eons in this Internet age), it is STILL just as helpful as it was when I first started looking at the idea of The No Brainer Wardrobe.
You see, most people are drawn to a particular style of clothing. You may not stick to that style absolutely, but it is a GREAT starting point. You can see my style pinboard and get a pretty good idea of both my tastes and how my tastes changed slightly over the past two years. The outfits at the top of the pinboard are more current, and the outfits at the bottom are older.
Do you have a pinboard? If so, see how your style has evolved since you created it.
If you don’t have a style pinboard–go start one! It will be the basis of many of my posts in October. If you need some boards to follow there are about 200 linked in the comments of my post two years ago.
Do you already have a style pinboard? Link to it down in the comments–it’s a great way to share your style with others! I’d love some new boards to follow, too!
ACTION ITEMS:
- If you don’t have one already, start a Wardrobe Pinboard on Pinterest.
- Make note of themes you see on your board. For me, I’m apparently all about stripes, layers, ankle booties, black skinnies or leggings, and generally unfussy outfits.
- Make note of things that you DISLIKE. As I get older, it’s more helpful for me to know what I don’t like when I go shopping. It helps me save time, because even if I buy it…I know I’ll never wear it.
- Go through the Style Profile in Stitchfix. It’s great to help you think critically about what you like and don’t like.
