Okay. This was big. This was huge. I got have compiled waaaaaaaaaay more stuff than I thought we even HAD in our house. I was going to take all this stuff outside my house and photograph it like in the Material World. But, internets, I suddenly wasn't comfortable with the idea of the world (ie, just the skeezy people) knowing what city I live in and what my house looks like. Yes scary people, please come find me…here are the directions…would you like some sweet tea?
So, instead you get to see everything piled up in my entryway. Which, please let me tell you, thrills Husband to no end. We are having dear friends of ours in for the weekend, and I believe he's afraid I'll leave my HUGE mess as the very first thing they see. Welcome, friends! Fear not, Husband, I have a detailed plan on where each…pile??…goes. Yes, I'm a pile person. Oh! And the shoes…those stay. That's our shoe…pile.
We are trying to weed through the toys that the Twigs actually play with. They have outgrown some toys, and they are simply too big to keep around in hopes that future Twigs will play with them. Plus, we're going to take the toys down to the Women's Shelter we visited on our first adventure. They have a toy room that needs some desperate restocking. The clothes will also likely go to the women of that shelter, and I couldn't be more pleased with that idea.
The pile above is set aside for a possible super secret mission in the future. This is the result of me purging my "home decorating" closet. I have high hopes for where these things (along with a few furniture items in the garage) will eventually end up. You'll have to stay tuned for that exciting adventure.
I have to tell you guys, last night when I looked at this massive pile I felt some really strong feelings. I felt guilt, I felt disappointment that that stuff was the representation of our wealth, and I felt a strong call to action about certain aspect of our lifestyle. I'll talk more about that tomorrow. I am headed off to chat with a group of friends about some of the intense feelings I had…maybe they'll have insight. That's what friends are for.
