M7 :: A Look Down Memory Lane (Year 1)

So, my book is complete and sent off for printing…but I struggled to find a way to convey that to you, dear internets.  Afterall, my screenshots look almost identical to yesterday–only more complete…and still, I do not have the physical book in my anxious hands yet.  So, dear ones, you get to go on a retrospective journey of Tiny Twig and Husband…year one.  :)  It is amazing all of the memories that looking back at these pictures (long relegated to an archived CD) brought up to the surface.  So, away we go (in third person, because it’s more mysterious and fun)!

Husband and Tiny Twig get married a mere 3 weeks after Tiny turns 20 years old.  This embarrasses Husband to no end, and he still acts incredulous when she tells people she was 20 (he 21) when they got married.  Husband couldn’t resist Tiny’s charms–and THAT dear friends is why he married her at such an infantile age.  :)

Husband and Tiny Twig retreat to a wonderful honeymoon in Cancun from which they have approximately 3 photos together…because, after all who else was there to capture their picture??  They were enamored with the fact that it was just.the.two.of.them…finally.  :)

Upon arriving home from the honeymoon, Tiny Twig busied herself with making this sweet little old (read: not a level thing in it, molded bathroom, freeeeeezing cold) house a home.  She feathered her nest–and it was theirs.

Then, Tiny and her handsome Husband (alliteration anyone??) took an almost second honeymoon to the beautiful city of San Francisco.  They have an incredible time, stay in an incredible hotel, eat incredible food and spend time with Tiny’s dad and her two wee little brothers.  They also receive a phone call that Husband’s sister is close to labor at a mere 35 weeks pregnant with their first niece.  Oh my!

This little bugger was born just a week later and after a brief stay in the NICU came home to her family.  Tiny Twig and Husband were enjoying being an Aunt and Uncle for the first time, when out of the blue…

There was soon to be a new (surprise!) member of the Twig family.  Husband was in shock and awe (not such good awe, more like Bush’s intention of the phrase “shock and awe”)–and Tiny was just in…shock.  Tiny was about to not be so tiny anymore.

Little Bean grew and grew and made Tiny very sick…which in turn made Husband very tired.  But, nevertheless they packed up their cute little (old, crusty) house and moved 600 miles away to a new land.

Tiny climbed these stairs to she and Husband’s new apartment home overlooking a beautiful lake (a real lake, not a scummy pond).  Husband alone dragged their mattress out of the U-Haul, because obviously Tiny was not of any help being “in the family way” and all.  After a few errands around their new town, Tiny kicked the crazy Southern crabgrass with a pout and said “I hate this grass…Indiana didn’t have grass like this”.  At nightfall, when she realized she didn’t know a soul other than Husband in a 600 mile radius Tiny cried herself to sleep (on the bare mattress, in the middle of the empty living room, with Husband sweetly snuggled up).

Husband and Tiny Twig enjoyed many days of adventure and unknown–by the lake, no less–in the coming months.  They talked a lot about the upcoming arrival of their bundle of joy, enjoyed feeling him (they found out he was a he the DAY before they moved away) kick for the first time, and began building a life for themselves in a strange new place.

As it turns out, Tiny and Husband have been after adventure all along.  Go figure.
