I've been ruminating on what tattoo to get for months (years??)–always wanting one, and never quite having the guts to do it. The permanency of it just kills me. Nevermind the fact that I was willing to make the lifelong commitment of marriage and then hopped right onto the baby-train not too long after…noooooo, the permanency and finality of those things didn't stress me at all…but a tattoo, that's a different story apparently. :)
I think the issue lies in the fact that my tastes in aesthetics tend to change on a whim. I was the child that moved my bedroom furniture around at least once a month and begged (BEGGED!!) my mom to let me paint my room each time I had a change of heart. So, how can I commit to a piece of art on my body…for-e-ver?! Welp, I'm going to do it. :) Tonight.
Kal from, [i]LOVElife got a GORGEOUS tattoo recently…honoring her daughters Pilot and Penn. It is beautiful–and it's saying a lot that she got the tattoo because she's a graphic designer and fine artist herself. I can only imagine the impeccable work that her tattoo artist must have had! :) Her tattoo says, "Love is my pilot, Love is my penn".
Some of my inspiration comes from beautiful script that I've seen around the internets. I don't have sources for the images below, so if you know the source please let me know so I can give them proper credit.
I'll be totally honest, I'm not totally excited about tonight. I'm extremely nervous…not about the pain ironically, but about the permanency. But, husband and I ARE excited for the night out together to do something fun and adventuresome. And I DEFINITELY love that!! Ahhhh, wish me luck, friends!
