I believe we will be taking a nice little road-trip this week! Charleston, SC here we come! :) It is one of my very favorite Southern cities, rich with history and it has vibrant city life today. Hopefully, we'll be able to see all the sights…like…
There is something bonding about road trips. You know I like them! They are magical, really. Several hours spent in the car, so much time to talk about…well…anything. Or nothing. That works, too. Just time. Time spent together, doing something new and fun for everyone. Though we have been to Charleston countless times since we've lived in Charlotte, we've never visited Fort Sumter…so, we'll likely do that. Brother is taking A.P. U.S. History next year in school, so I figured it would be a good "summer school" like preparation. :) I kid. Kind of.
Unfortunately, this time of year is insanely hot in Charleston. But, we'll deal with that with lots of sunscreen and tons of stops in the shade of the Spanish Moss and lovely cafes. :) Such. a. fun. city.
