M11 :: Why It’s Great to be a Tourist in Charlotte

1.  The weather is so temperate.  4 season, leaves change colors, but you can also play golf (by that I mean, Husband plays golf) in January.  Below is the sweet bell curve of our temperate climate.

2.  It is a growing city.  One of the local suburbs was written up on Forbes as the #2 Relo-ville in the nation.  This means that we're getting exciting and fun new attractions all the time!

3.  We are about 3 hours from the beach and 2 hours from the mountains.  Can it get any better than that?

And, about my inspiration as to why I need to be a tourist in my own town…I have been here for 4 years and we have no idea how long we will live here.  I want to make sure I see all there is to see in Charlotte.  I want to drink it up and enjoy it.  See the sights.  I don't want to be somewhere across the nation in a few years and hear about some cool thing I missed while we lived here.  I think that would be a smack in the face–a reminder of how hard it is to be truly present in the present.

To be honest, with the time change we've had a slow going start to the week.  The majority of our "in town tourism" is going to be done Thursday, Friday, and Saturday.  So, likely I'll switch up my posting and post the completion of our adventure on Saturday and then my reflections on Sunday.  Just want to keep you in the know, because I'm so thankful you keep checking back in on me!  :)
