So, this weekend I was thinking. I miss the Mondays a few years ago when I could look forward to pouring a hot cup of coffee and reading my favorite blogs–all of their new posts ready to go in my feed reader.
I knew their stories like friends, and I was always interested in what they were up to next. Today, there are very few blogs that catch my attention like they used to. I don’t know if this is because Twitter and Pinterest and Instagram have totally changed (again!) the way we communicate and tell a story, but I miss the more intimate (and simple?) blogging of the past.
So, I’m wondering, what are the qualities that make a blog “sticky” to you? I’m trying to make lists about my favorite things from my favorite blogs, and also remembering what I loved so much pre Pinterest/Instagram/Twitter. What are the things you’d like to hear from me in 2014?
I’m also thinking about:
- How excited I am to teach the “How to be Free as a Mom” class on The Influence Network. I feel like ditching Mom Guilt and soaking in the good moments has totally allowed me to love motherhood. I talk some about it in my podcast with Heather MacFadyen, if you want a 30 minute something to chew on while you’re folding laundry today! I also wrote about what allows me to live freely as a mom in my sample chapter for our book proposal. So, this has been on my mind and heart a LOT lately. I’m over the moon to have an outlet to share. I’d LOVE to have you in the class, it’ll be a pick-me-up for moms, encouraging, inspiring, and not-at-all shaming. :) Ditch the Mom Guilt!
- Also, I kind of take this attitude with my whole life–if you want to get a fun freebie this week–my newest little E-Booklet called “Keeping it Real”–just subscribe to my weekly newsletter…which is more like a curated note to YOU to encourage, inspire, and inform. Thumbs up on that one!
- You can enter this Brika giveaway from last week that hardly has any entries!
- I’m working on an epic “How to REALLY Use Stitchfix” post for this week. Wondering if y’all have any questions you’d like me to answer (or even ask my inside girl at Stitchfix)! I feel like I’ve got the process down and figured out and I can’t wait to share! Would you leave any questions about Stitchfix you might have down below in the comments?
