Heather Boersma’s book Dream Big piqued my interest, because I think she has a lot of really solid and life-changing things to say to women (specifically to young women, I think!).  I asked if I could review it on Tiny Twig because I like to help support other women who are pursuing big ideas and big hopes.  So, here we are.

I think that it is a lot to expect any writer to be able to deliver–in 30 days–a life beyond all you could ask or imagine.  But, Heather really goes after big heart stuff in this book.  Since it is set up with questions at the end of each chapter, there is some time to reflect on what she’s written.

I need to be honest.  Normally, I hate books with questions at the end of chapters.  They are generally so trite and contrived and one dimensional, just regurgitating the information from the chapter.  Heather seems to skillfully take it a step further and really asks you to dig deeper into yourself and look at how God has created you and what He is doing in your life.

My favorite portion of the book talks about the year of Jubilee.  Jubilee has always been an idea that intrigues me–releasing others and being released from debts.  She speaks to relational Jubilee.  I think I I’m injecting some of my own ideas here, but I love that concept.  Who can you release from the tighthold of unforgiveness in your heart?  This is the first step towards working through past hurts and fears.  Brilliant.

If you want to purchase Heather’s book Dream Big, you can do so here.  Also, take a peak over at her blog–she posts some really heartfelt and earnest thoughts, which are always laced with encouragement.
