Happy Father's Day to the men in my life.
Today, I want to honor my husband, the love of my life. He's the one we adventure with, and he's always my right hand man. He makes my life 10x easier and 100000x more enjoyable. He has grown into a fabulous father, the best one I know actually.
Here he is bleary eyed after our super-quick delivery of Twig1. P.S. That's Husband's dad, 3 generations. Notice the family resemblance? :) I am told all the time that Twig2 looks just like my Father-in-Law. I love that.
Taking care of Twig2 during his NICU stay after Twig2's equally quick delivery. That look of weariness in his eyes is still so protective and tender. That is what I love about my husband. Even in the moments when he is absolutely wiped out…he will still continue to love each of us so well and so intentionally.
Let me tell you a story. We found out we were expecting Twig1 just 6 months after we got married. This was hard to swallow at first for my Husband. We were young, we were (ARE!) in love, we were completely not settled…oh, and did I mention, we were still in school? Imagine taking finals while your wife is at home getting sick in between her own finals (and during…and every other second of the day for 8 months). Yup, that was our life. :) Then…just like that we moved 600 miles away from home and struck out on our own. We became parents and through that, better spouses and more adventuresome people. Imagine that, the thing (person) we were so afraid would tie us down actually ended up opening up our hearts and pushing our boundaries in life.
Twig1 made Husband a man. I know that for sure.
xo, Babe. So glad we get to walk through life together. Thanks for loving me, and thanks for showing our boys how to be men.
I love quotes, and I found this quote about fatherhood to be particularly fitting to Husband.
He didn't tell me how to live; he lived, and let
me watch him do it. -CB Kelland
