This space has been quiet. Oh, since about December. Sure, I’ve popped in here and there, but really…since I got myself laid up on bed rest, this place has grown quiet. I felt maybe a little uncomfortable here, like I was stretching a lot and maybe Tiny Twig didn’t fit me so well.
I got this idea that I needed a new design, a new plan, a new direction to point my ship. I got big ideas and big plans, and well–big plans and ideas take matched energy. And, I haven’t had extra energy to spare in months (have I mentioned I have a 4 month old??). So, I let my desire for “better” get in the way of what I knew to be GOOD now. And, I know it’s good to show up in this place. I know it’s good to encourage and be encouraged.
Also, truth be told, I’ve had a couple projects that have been in the pipeline that have taken more creative energy than I’ve given them credit for. If you know me at all, you know that I have a tendency not to realize how much I have going on. Chaos (except for NOISE) doesn’t really get to me, so I can truly and honestly not realize how many plate I have spinning at a time. I’ll forget to give credence to the things I’ve got going on, be it personal or creatively.
And, I’m so completely excited to fill you in on a few things I’ve been working on. And, even just wrapping these few things up and being able to tell you about them…well…I’m even more excited to get back here and write on a regular basis. Thanks for sticking with me. A girl only has so many creative thoughts and words to say, and I certainly never want to waste your time with things I’ve not put enough thought or attention to. I want you to be blessed when you come to this space, so thank for being patient. :)
A few things I am really proud of:
First, I had a reason to get a shiny new passport with my married name on it! I am going with a slew of other amazing bloggers to Ethiopia in August!
Second, if you follow me on Instagram, you’ll know that I’m obsessed with making the Blueberry Crisp from Shauna Niequist‘s newest book Bread and Wine. Well, I can’t wait for you to read about my trip up to Chicago to visit with her! It’s in the VERY FIRST issue of The Influence Magazine. It’s a 50-ish page eMag and it’s beautiful! My creative team of Jordan Brantley and Jennifer Blair have been tireless and Hannah Abbott was phenomenal as a writer, as well. You’ll have to be a member of The Influence Network to read the article, but you can join super easily here!
Speaking of The Influence Network, I’ve been overseeing a complete brand and site overhaul. We have a fantastic community growing over there, and we wanted to do it justice. Apart from the shiny new look, the navigation and site content is getting a complete makeover as well. We’ve been listening to our members and will be SO excited to roll out the new site in July. I’m so antsy and impatient in waiting for the site to be finished, but can finally reveal our new logo!
And finally, something that has really refreshed me even while writing it, The Refresh Book. I’ve been feeling a little creatively and motivationally…constipated…for a lack of a better word. I’ve felt a little like I’ve been stuck in sand. But, even writing through these feelings–I’m excited to get going again. And that’s our hope, that this eBook will be even just a tool that women can use to get a little “unstuck”. We’ve all been there. We know what it feels like to be stuck. We know how frustrating that can be.
This book has been even more fun than my prior two eBooks because it was co-written. I got to toss around words and ideas with someone else. And, really, that’s kind of the heart of this eBook. It’s like the coffee date that nudges you out of your slumber and gives you a bit of your spunk back. It’s a tiny bit like going and getting new highlights–we all know getting your hair done is the best feeling.
If you want to check it out before you buy it, you can download a sample chapter (one of my faves, actually!) in exchange for you sharing the book with your people. Or, if you want, it’s not too expensive to just buy at only $4.99.
And, because I’m so silly excited to get this book out of our brains and into the world, we have a crazy good deal for you. This weekend (4/31-5/2), you can get Refresh, The No Brainer Wardrobe, and Be Quiet and Say Something for the price of just one! All we ask is that you tell your friends and family about our newest book. Just buy Refresh, go tell your friends about it, and then come back here and let us know you did in the comment section. Then, you’re done! You’ll get your copies of The No Brainer Wardrobe and Be Quiet and Say Something delivered to your email inbox by the evening of Tuesday, 5/4. So, for just $4.99 you can get almost $20 worth of eBooks. That’s a GREAT deal.

So, forgive me for being quiet here. I’ve been spinning a lot of plates and didn’t even realize it. I’m over the moon excited that it’s finally time to share them with you! I also can’t wait to begin meeting here with you again. I have a lot on my mind and a lot to write about. I can’t wait to enjoy the summer together and get to know each other in this space again.
