Our sixth anniversary has come and gone, practically just a blip on the radar in this abundant (and full) life we lead. We met in February 2002, when I was only 16 years old. It is incredible to think of the growth and change that has marked our relationship over the past almost 10 years.
We have grown together, the Lord knitting our relationship tighter and tighter as we come to know ourselves better and better. You see, the statistics are grim for people who get married as young as we did. "You'll grow apart", we were warned. "You haven't had enough time to find yourself", we heard. However, we have experienced the opposite. We have grown closer as we learn more about ourselves and each other.
Wanna see something crazy? This is us in November 2003, at my grandparents' house for Thanksgiving. We hadn't even been dating for a year…but weren't we young, and sweet, and cute?
God leads you on crazy adventures, as long as you are willing to follow. As Will Rogers said, "Why not go out on a limb? That is where the fruit is."
