It’s interesting. I’m producing more than I ever have in my life. Somehow April and May 2015 have turned into the most frenzied and frazzled months in my whole life. I am deeply convicted that these things I’m involved in are good things and worthy things. I feel they are all very important and timely. However, I wish they hadn’t all converged in 6 weeks time. Because of all the producing, I’ve actually felt a little creatively dry.
Today, I hopped the first hurdle of the next 4 weeks. We launched a brand new Influence Network site–and it’s AMAZING. It’s fast and it’s simple. It’s easy to connect with like-minded, creative (and we’re ALL creative) women. It’s especially easy to find the resources that will encourage and equip you for the road to come.
This site was the end of a 6 month effort of planning and scheming. It’s not finished, obviously, because when does the Internet ever end? BUT, I’m massively proud of it and we’ve gotten really great feedback already!
If you are looking for a group of women who are pursuing a vibrant life, this is your crowd. I’d love to invite you to come join us. With your membership, you get a free monthly online class (taught by people like Lara Casey, Annie Downs, and Amanda Cook from Bethel Music), a set of monthly downloadable resources, and access to really vibrant forums + groups. It’s really my favorite little place on the Internet.
Coming up next, Jess and my book is due May 6th. I’d be lying if I didn’t admit that I’m panicking and relishing at the same time. It’s fascinating to simultaneously wonder how in the WORLD something is going to turn out, while also having faith that God is in the midst and will see you through. The knowing the deadline is looming kind of tinges everything else with a little bit of urgency, though. I will loathe the day coming soon when I grab a gallon of milk and May 6 stares back at me from the expiration date. ;)
After the book is due to Zondervan, we’ll start looking forward to this next really exciting thing I wanted to announce.
Through this whole book process and startup business (Wildly Co.), I’ve been watching and wondering about all things where Christianity and creativity meet. I’ve been thinking about inspiration, criticism, competition, and how to handle all of that through the lens of the Gospel.
So, I went the women I work with at The Influence Network and we decided to gather our favorite creatives and put together a FREE livestream event for members of The Influence Network. We’re calling it The Creative Women’s Summit. The super fun thing is that this is an event that is valued at more than $150 and our members get it free with their $10/month membership! We’re incredibly excited to have the conversation and be able to deliver it to the homes of our members.
It’s a huge month for me, y’all. I’m feeling the growing pains and the stretching that comes with evolving. It’s not pretty most of the time. It involves a lot of looking around and wondering if this is really what I signed up for. But, most of the time I’m really grateful that this is my mess. This is the lovely gig I get to contend with and grow through.
I really hope you’ll join us at The Influence Network. I’m really excited about the way the site came out. I think it’s going to serve our members really well. You’d be really blessed, I think, to join in. There are many more than a thousand women there waiting to get to know YOU.
