I was born and raised in the cornfields of Indiana, and though we’ve since moved away to establish our own family…I can feel in my bones when we’ve crossed back into Indiana on trips home. It just seems like my body and heart feel at home in that flat and vast fertile ground. I love that you can see for miles uninterrupted.
I met my husband in our hometown when I was 16 and he was 18. He was (and is) so handsome. Jet black hair (“no brown about it” as he would say) and honey colored eyes–he’s dreamy. We got married several years later and then as those things happen, baby boy #1 came along somewhat unexpectedly a little over a year after we got married.
Husband and I now have two crazy little boys, ages 3 years and 1 year. Although they are 23 months apart, I am asked if they are twins at least twice a week. This drives me insanely nuts, leading me to want to jump up and down and point out all of their obvious developmental differences (do they think my 1 yr old is exceptionally brilliant or my 3 yr old is profoundly slow?!).
I desire a life of adventure and have harbored a lifelong fear of mediocrity. Passion is something I hope to hold on to, cultivate, learn about, and grow in…whatever that looks like. I want to love others more than myself. I want my boys to grow up to be good men. I want to live a love story that could be made into a movie. I want to bring the profound, the excellent, and the glorious into even the mundane things we do everyday in life. Can you create and seek that spark wherever you go? I’m on a lifelong mission to find out.
