This weekend Husband and I finally got around to finishing our little chalkboard we've had sitting around for mmmmm, 3 months?? I think it turned out pretty cute. Don't tell anyone, but that little embellishment at the top is to cover up some shoddy mitering work. :) The angles didn't quite all add up…but that's an easy fix!
First, I had intended to paint it my beloved shade of mustard…but what looked like mustard on the paint chip ended up school bus on the frame. You can still see some remnants of the color peeking out, because I thought it was charming in very.small.doses. I repainted it a robin's eggish color. It was basically turquoise with a good deal of gray mixed in…basic cheap craft acrylic paint. Perfect.
Ahhh, feels good to have that project done. I'm picking up The Little Prince today from the library, so I'll get to get started on that tonight. :) Yay!
