If you were following along with Mission 10, you may or may not have watched Food, Inc. with me.  BUT, now is your chance to watch Food, Inc. online and FOR FREE until April 29th!  Love Public Television.  If you follow that link, you'll also notice a treasure trove of awesome resources in the left-hand column.

I really encourage everyone to watch this film.  And more importantly, I believe, read In the Defense of Food.  It's such a fascinating read, and completely changed the way I think about cooking, food shopping, and eating.  Really challenging and paradigm shifting stuff.  If you're up for a challenge, think about food this summer.  Think about the way you eat, the way you spend your food dollars, the message you are sending your children, and if you are being duped by "food product" marketers.  There was a day when food didn't have 49293040 ingredients.  Without being militant about it, I try to cook that way and shop that way for my family now.  Sure, I still drink Diet Mt. Dew–which is probably rat poison in a bottle…but, I'm shifting slowly to drinking more herbal iced-tea and water.  I told you, I'm not militant.  :)  I just don't buy Dora yogurt for my kids, when they will eat plain yogurt just as enthusiastically.  Who can resist some plain yogurt with a few strawberries or even some honey drizzled on top?

Okay, enough yapping.  Go watch the movie.  Let me know what you think here in the comments if you DO get around to watching it!
