Today, I am illustrating a basic “good start” in blogging. Pick a community that looks appealing and jump in. If you are a writerly type, may I suggest Five Minute Friday’s over at Lisa-Jo’s place? Lisa-Jo truly sees a place for every woman’s voice, and makes sure to tell the world often–there is NO competition. You can read all about Five Minute Friday here.
Start.
Just like any circle, it looks closed until you’re on the inside.
No end and no beginning, with no opening it can feel like a fence keeping you out.
But, being inside the circle is great comfort. There is comfort in the boundary, the embrace of being included and being on the interior. There is something about being squished into a finite area that forces you to interact and join.
Joining is the first step to feeling loved, included, cherished, understood, and heard. But, these days rarely does an invitation arrive asking for your involvement. Joining relies on you and your moxie, it relies on your ability to jump in with both feet.
If you are feeling excluded, separate, on the outside–then join. It’s the first step to breaking the boundary and finding the joy of being on the inside.
No one is keeping you out. Don’t rely on someone else to ask you in. Join in and make yourself at home, and you’ll find yourself a family.
Times up.
