(in)couragement

Did you know today, September 12th is the National Day of Encouragement?  Sounds like a Hallmark Holiday to me, but, really encouraging one another adds massively to our enjoyment and fulfillment in life.  It is important to both be encouraged and to encourage others; without either, we would find a large part of our joy missing in life, I believe.

I love sending (and receiving!) cards, letters, notes, etc.  I often tell my husband that written letters must be my "love language"…although, I don't think that's one of the original 5.  :)  I think it's the place where "gifts" and "acts of service" meet.  **If you are unfamiliar with the 5 Love Languages concept, check it out…its ubiquitous, but good!**

I digress.  My sister-in-law is just a tiny bit older than me, and our children are stairstepped…an average of a year between each baby.  It makes for a massively LOUD get together when we're all together, one where we barely say 10 words to each other because our words are used up on "Don't hit your brother!"  "I don't know where your sippy cup is!" and "NO BITING!!".  We are in an exhausting time of life, and we each have our own trials we're walking through right now.

Since we've moved back to Indiana, it has been great to see our relationship grow.  It's beautiful and crazy and wonderful.

If you find yourself in need of encouragement, make sure to check out (in)courage–a place where women encourage women and where women are given a voice.  My dear dear friend the Nester and her sis Emily both write in that space–so you know it's good.  :)
