First off, thank you a million times over for your heartfelt and precious comments about Asher and his first days. We celebrated like crazy grinning fools this weekend, all the while knowing that even had Asher not have been healed God would still have been good. I’m not sure how the math works out in that–and I’m thankful I didn’t have to learn…but it is truth nonetheless.
Now, about the Influence Conference. I am so excited to let you in on more details! It is going to be held in Indianapolis, October 11-13. Tickets go on sale next Monday–with the Early Bird (first 50 women to make a decision and purchase) tickets being $170.
When Jessi and I first caught wind of this notion to have a faith-based conference, we knew we wanted it to be unlike anything we’d ever been to before. We wanted all kinds of women to feel welcome, we wanted it to be really beautiful, and more than anything we wanted it to tell a Good Story–the BEST story. We wanted to make sure that every angle was pointing at Jesus.
Now, the best way to make sure something happens in your own life is to try to lead others in the same path. My pastor jokes that when he is doing sermon prep he has learned not to pray for object lessons, lest he get some unexpected or undesired ones. I feel similarly. This week has been all about sanding down my pride and softening my heart. It’s kind of painful and mostly awesome.
I am beyond excited and honored to be building this community for like-minded women at Influence. It has been my experience that bloggers “grow up” around a conference (I’m sure you can think of groups affiliated with lots of the blog conferences, if you are a blogger). We’d love to see an awesome and encouraging community grow up out of Influence, one that fights for bigger things and has soft hearts, and dreams huge dreams. We want you to have women who support your big ideas and breath life and give roots to your dreams. This.is.possible. This is our hope in Influence.
My personal big hope for Influence is that it empowers women to imagine a different kind of possibility for their online spaces. Of course, Influence is for every woman, but I am really excited to bring you speakers who will speak one how to make your blog work for you. How to provide amazing content for your readers, how to foster a community, and how to provide a life for you and/or your family that God may be leading you in. This has been where God has been moving our family for the past year–and it lights something special in my heart.
Check out Jessi and Casey’s posts for more of their hearts about Influence.
