Ladies and Gents (?? do I have gentlemen readers?)–
Today, I spent the hours of 8:30am-4:30pm waiting for our AT&T U-Verse TV and Internet to be installed. You know, it's super important to have internet before you actually own the house. Right? RIGHT? Yes, I knew you'd agree. This is what most of our day looked like…the boys parked in front of the technicians tiny television feed…because the rest of the house is utterly empty.
While the boys chilled with the 2" cartoons, I laid out the floor to see what the end result might look like. When I told Husband that I laid out the floor he said, "You didn't, uh, nail it down or anything, right?". No babe, I trust the professionals for that sort of thing.
I think they look lovely. Kind of random, kind of beautiful. I hope you like them, because…I have a lot of wood hanging out in my garage (and because I love them). My goal was to carry all of that wood in so it could acclimate…but…uh…each little box is 30 lbs and there are a zillion little boxes. I stopped after 10 boxes.
After that, I started thinking about paint colors. I walked from room to room and noted the colors I liked and didn't like. Picking the cabinet color is by far the MOST IMPORTANT…because I have been known to cajole Husband into repainting a room immediately after finishing because I didn't love the color. But, I will be doing the painting of the cabs–and I only want to do it once. :)
And, then the boys room. Their bunkbeds will likely be painted the same color as the cabs, because 1. I'll likely have extra paint. 2. I love gray. 3. Why not?? And isn't that original purple really…purple?
And…then…I headed back downstairs and Twig2 had pulled some important parts off the windows. A happy accident maybe, because I actually like the un-crisscrossed (professional term) better. I think they look a little more modern, sleek, and let in more light. Thoughts? I can put them back on…but I kind of dread that battle everyday with Twig2. Nester, I specifically need your thoughts!
All in all, I think I accomplished a lot today. Tomorrow we'll hopefully (fingers and toes crossed) will close. I am Husbands Power of Attorney (which makes me feel very powerful). I'll let you know how it goes. I do have internet after all. :)
