blog love:
1. For total eye candy and inspiration, I love suziebeezie. just picture after picture of gorgeous things, especially interiors.
2. For encouragement in being intentional with my family and life, I love Small Notebook. Intentionality is something the Lord keeps pricking my heart about.
3. For total fun and business dreaming, I love wikstenmade. I just so admire everything on this blog. A totally handmade and personal clothing line? So awesome and inspiring!
outfit love:
This outfit from Boden's spring line is totally dreamy. Everything seems to be menswear inspired lately, but I love this very feminine take with the ruffles, bow and flirty shoe color. I am more of a risk taker when it comes to fashion, which has definitely resulted in some unfortunate moments. I think I struggle with editing. I love that everything is simple here, except for the bright pop of the shoes!
office love:
My favorite office space is Emily's from Jones Design Company.
Look at all those layers of texture and pattern. I love that she achieves such depth while using neutrals. I love how bright and open it is. I actually have an office in our current home that I've tried to make as visually appealing as I can. I spend a lot of time in that room. I made a change last year in my office that has made me so happy. I pulled my little table where I sew off the wall so that it faces a window and the rest of the room. I was getting so tired of staring at the wall!
photo love:
Honestly, this is the hardest part of this little guest post for me. I really, really, really don't like pictures of myself. And, so, I figured it would be good for me to do. I need to get over myself.
And, so, I don't have a picture of myself that is attached to some big life moment. Sadly, I have avoided many photos over the years. Last week, I posted this picture on my blog. It was the first photo of myself that I'd posted in forever, especially with me looking at the camera. The coloring is off because it was a kind of gloomy day. But it wasn't about that so much as it was about just posting something without trying to make it as perfect as I could. I'm not going to lie, I was so nervous. I don't know why. I have the loveliest blog readers but I see myself with such a critical eye.
one thing I love about myself and why:
I take a lot of joy in encouraging others. Over the past few years, I've grown a good bit in this area and I have to say that it's becoming a favorite past time. Making a meal. Putting together a little floral arrangement (nothing faincy!). Sending an encouraging email. It just makes me smile with giddiness, especially when I've planned something special.
twig here: Ellen has the most precious business–Handmade Recess. Seriously, cute. In her most recent line she is using vintage fabrics and notions. I recently bought this cute little change purse. She and I met at The Nester's Slipcover Party and please check out that link for the INCREDIBLE bag she brought. We all wanted to buy it off her body.
