So, I've been tagged by the precious and talented Jill Jarvis and Amber Fischer to participate in making a list of 10 things that make me happy. I love these opportunity to interact with other bloggers AND to take a chance a think of the things I'm loving these days. Sometimes realizing how exciting life is really just takes giving yourself time to think on it. So, without further ado…
1. Receiving notice that something I've requested has arrived at the library for me to pick up. This literally makes my day–and I always have no less than 10 things on request at any given time. I even request things that are already checked-in at the library because they gather them all up and put them at the front of the library for you. Seriously! They should charge for that–because it makes my life so.much.stinkin.easier. With two wild little boys, I simply cannot wander through the library trying to decipher the Dewey Decimal System (I don't think I've had a refresher course since 2nd grade with Mrs. Smith the School Librarian).
2. TOMS shoes. I love their One for One campaign where they give a pair to someone in need for every pair that you purchase…every time. I love that they've taken a simple shoe and marked it up so that the people who like them and can afford them are subsidizing someone else getting shoes…it's brilliant. Plus, they've got that "cool factor" that makes people want to spend more on something with a simple design. I think it's a brilliant business model–and I LOVE the shoes below (size 6.5 in case you are interested in adding to my spring wardrobe, ha!).
3. Gussy Sews. Her stuff is darling. She is darling. AND, she's an upcoming sponsor of my sweet little corner of the blogosphere. I'm so excited to be able to feature a little interview with her about adventure and living well in just a week or so. LOOK FOR IT, PEOPLE. You will fall in love with her charming little self. I love to see young women joining the blogworld and making their voice heard.
4. Painting Group. Because they've invited my BACK this month! I'm not a Painting Group reject! I'll be rejoining them on Thursday at a gallery one woman owns. I've got a painting in my head that is dying to get out onto canvas. I've also received a few pointers from some of the other artists on some new techniques. Yay for continued learning!
5. The Olympics! Husband and I have been enjoying DVRing the night's events and then starting them about 9 or 9:30 and fast forwarding to the good parts. We loved watching Lindsay Vonn and Julia Mancuso plus Bode Miller and Shaun White. It's just a fun diversion from normal life, and I love watching sports of any kind!
6. That my boys use the crib my brothers and I grew up in. I love that this crib is on its 7th child now (some cousins used it, too!). Don't worry, it passes all current safety standards and is just a precious and simple crib that I love, love, love. I can't wait until my little brothers use it for their little ones.
7. The mall play-place. Perfect dreary day indoor activity for the boys to burn off some energy while I do some conspiring and scheming and reading. Basically, act like a grown-up while my children are contained in a child's (and bacteria's) wonderland!
8. Hazelnut half-caf coffee. Just enough octane to get the day going.
9. Essie Chinchilly nail-polish. It's the perfect gravelly neutral. It's really a non-color which is such a cool and understated look.
10. Our day at the beach yesterday. It was magical. Stay tuned for the results of Adventure #8…it was my favorite, thus far!
Annnnnnd, I'm supposed to tag 10 other bloggers but hyperlinking makes me tired so it's only going to be 5, so here goes.
2. Kara Haupt (I Just Might Explode)
